Limited Bravery

The new guild web site is now live.  The eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted that there is not a lot of content on the site yet.  That's because this is a community web site, and we need you to create the content for us (because we're lazy).

Signing up

First off, you'll need to use the 'Create new account' link to get signed up.  Please make sure you use the  name of your main character/toon in the guild.  Not only does that help everyone else know who is posting what, later on we'll hopefully be using it to do funky stuff like pull your details from the Armory. It should go without saying, but please do not use your WoW/Battle.net account name or password to sign up here, or all your epics belong us.  Report any problems signing up to Anklbyter in-game.

The server hostname, port and pasword are all available under the 'Guild Information' button from the Social dialog in-game (press 'O' to open it dumbass!)

Get signed up today and find out who really is the sexy blonde and who's the hairy danish bloke in a skirt.

The new armory model viewer is now available on the site.  Pick a guildie from the user list and you'll see them at the bottom of their page in all their hairy 3D glory.  Likewise there's no hiding if you post a particularly dodgy story or blog 'cos we'll all be able to see the guilty party (see below for an example).

Don't forget you can head over to the Armory site, log in and set your character's default pose to maximum buffness so we can all say "Look at the size of the Pauldrons on that!"

We're getting ready to head off from Grizzly Hills tonight.  I'm hoping to see a bit more of the 'civilised' world soon.  Life under canvas is okay, but after a few pints of Pungent Seal Whey you sure start to stink a bit.

Hi Mom,

Hope you're not missing me too much.  It was a great idea of yours that I should spend my gap year getting my 'World Explorer' achievement.  I know I'm going to have to make my way in the realm now I'm a grown-up L80, but 25-man raids sure look like a dangerous way of doing it, so I'm going to kick back and enjoy life whilst I've still got a chance.

I'm often surprised when I talk to other high-level hunters that they haven't heard of the DPS spreadsheet.  If you're a hunter and serious about maximising your DPS, you really have to get the spreadsheet.  Originally there was Cheeky's DPS spreadsheet, but when he packed up WoW, various continuation versions were created.  Probably the best is Shandara's spreadsheet, which can be downloaded here:

You will need a copy of Microsoft Excel (2000, 2003 or 2007).  Unfortunately it doesn't work in OpenOffice due to the high number of complex VBA macros and other Excel specific features used, but it's worth the pain.  (I like Excel, it's what I use most at work and crunching numbers is in Excel is half the reason for playing WOW afaik).

After an extended period away, and having caught up to Level 80, finally starting to do some instances.  First one today was The Culling of Stratholme (non-heroic mode) with PUG via the dungeon finder.

Went okay except the healer bailed at the 4th wave, Tank died but we didn't wipe.  Replacement healer stuck it out to the end.  Managed to get:
